GRP roofing, often known as fibreglass roofing, is made of glass-reinforced polyester. GRP is a roofing material that combines polyester resin with glass fibre strands for added strength. Although the resin begins as a liquid, the application of a catalyst initiates a curing process that rapidly transforms the resin into a solid.

How a GRP flat roofing system is installed.

The first step is to apply a coat of catalysed resin to a new high-quality roof decking, preferably OSB boarding. A layer of fiberglass matting is then laid followed by a second coat of resin. When the resin has fully set, the final coloured topcoat is applied to give the roof an attractive finish.
